Why did the chicken cross the road?

"But while those winter coats are forgotten about for a few months, there are some people who will still have fur on their mind this summer, including the entire nation of Israel. Israeli Knesset Member Nitzan Horowitz has introduced the world's first nationwide bill to prohibit the fur industry. If it becomes law, this bill would prohibit the production, sale, and importation of all fur products throughout Israel. Very cool news for a hot season!"

Look at this little guy!

He's called a Pygmy Jerboa! I've never heard of this little animal before. Granted he is not in his natural environment and he is being poked to jump around and look cute, I'm fairly certain he's in good hands. Or non abusive hands. The point is, how many other animals exist in the animal kingdom that we've ever seen or heard of before? The rainforest is literally teaming with thousands of undiscovered creatures. All of them beautiful and mysterious.
One of the easiest ways we can help to increase their chances of survival and ensure they have a fighting chance, is to not eat meat. Changing light bulbs in your house and recycling works to an extent, but vegetarianism is one of the most effective tools we have in preserving our ecological conditions. Deforestation for fast food grazing and hog farming are two of the leading cause's of environmental damage. So go veggie and help these little guys survive.

This dog is in REAL DANGER of being killed since he has been at the shelter for longer than they normally keep dogs. Please give this dog the second chance he deserves
This dog is at the City of Los Angeles East Valley Shelter which is a very high volume shelter. The dogs usually don’t have very long from their available date until they are euthanized. The dogs in ISO have 0-1 days from their available date.

Happy Memorial day! Sadly, many dogs that have served our country are considered unadoptable because of their "aggressiveness" and are euthanized. These dogs are heroes and, in my opinion, should be honored like all war veterans.

Happy Biodiversity Day!!

Lets celebrate! There are so many simple ways we could party out for this special day. We could have some friends over for breakfast for some shade grown coffee and local, free range eggs. Later, buy some native and vegetable plants and plant them in our yards or neighborhoods. Then, go for a long stroll with our field guides in a beautiful nature preserve. And end it all, with a feast of locally and sustainably grown foods from a near-by farm with all our human and animal buddies. Lets spend the day celebrating the beauty and abundance of all life on our sweet earth.
