White Dog
A very twisted movie by Samuel Fuller about a man who tries to retrain a dog that has been trained to kill black people.
All the Pretty Horses
The Camargue horse is an ancient breed found running wild in the south of France.
And now for a horse lullaby because I never sleep:
Written by an African American slave who could not take care of her baby because she was busy with the master's baby. so sad and beautiful. This adaption is by Laura Gibson.
Pinky
Pinky is a Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier Mix. This puppy needs some love! No info on petfinder but this pup looks like it needs a nice owner.
Contact Smashface Rescue, Los Angeles, CA, by email if you are interested.
The Albatross
The albatross can symbolize and good or bad omen or as a metaphor for a burden to be carried. They are amazing birds with intricate and amazing courtship rituals. Lovely birdies.

Do you all know about the vegan mini-mall?
Its in Portland, OR and comprised of SweetPea Bakery, Herbivore Clothing, Food Fight! grocery store and Scapegoat Tattoo. Times are tough for everyone and they are definitely not immune. They don't all have mail-order but Food Fight! and Herbivore do if you wanna do some online Christmas shopping!
Here are some of my favorite things:
Ohio dogs saved. Thanks California!!!
A big thank you from Ohio to Alyssa Milano, Tonic, and Gentle Barn. You guys are heros!! I almost didn't believe the pound when I called today that all the dogs were saved by "some California people" but it is confirmed. How lovely. The first person I talked to down there said it was a rumor that the dogs were in a bad way and then I asked how much a dog would cost and I got transfered to someone who told me that they were gone. So happy its true!!

American Bulldogs
The most adorable upsidedown dogs:
I love them. So sweet and always there to put a smile on your face. My girl doesn't even have to be doing anything to make me laugh.

snow and dogs
Snow can be fun:
or dangerous:
Many reports from all over the country are coming in about dogs freezing to death already, even in shelters. So please watch for homeless dogs and chained dogs with no shelter and report them. Also, try to get the dogs out of these cruel shelters and get them shut down. All the reports of these type of shelters that I have heard are government run and we need to tell them that this is unaccaptable. Both Ohio and California have shelters such as these. I think we are in for a cold one so lets do our part to keep as many pets warm and cozy this winter. If only I could bring my horses in to the house.

I am going to see if there is something I can do to help. I would really like to save a couple.

Pure love....
To the people of Los Angeles....
The name of this dog is Meg. And she is the best dog i could have ever dreamt of...
She came into my life nine months ago and she is so delicate, sweet, loving and gentle that it brings often tears in my eyes. I never raised the voice on her cause she never did anything wrong. Everybody loves her, in my office, in the park, even my cat adopted her.
Meg spent the first 4 years of her life in Ireland on racetracks, was caged at least 20 hours a day, trained as hell, had few puppies. Two are running today, the others were apparently killed cause they weren't shaped for winning. She won. She had a bad accident on tracks but survived.
At 4 years old, the greyhounds are "too old" aka not fast enough so they disapeared of the tracks. Most of them are killed or as it was the case for Meg, owners sold them to laboratories. She was rescued with 50 others greys by an association just before leaving for the lab.
Thousand of them are killed each year in Ireland, United Kingdom or USA.
The greyhounds are really low energy dogs. They just are really sensitive and gentle creatures that need a good sofa, cushions and a LOT of love.
Meg changed my life. She got a big heart. I was hoping for a good dog. But she is much more than that...
I didn't saved her, she saved me.
In Hollywood, the "Hollydogs" association has 20 Greyhounds available for adoption for a fee of $200 each. "The cost includes spay or neuter, dental care, shots, fecal tests, heartworm and disease checks, a collar and leash, grooming kit and ID tag."
